  1. Album Rating: i read this review and was intrigued and immediately downloaded Tuff Ghost. i loved it! it was weird, but in a good way, and i'm hoping to go buy this c.d. i'll admit, i was a little scared at first mostly b/c of the name The Unicorns but i'm glad i looked into it. thanks for the review, it was good ~*me*~ mortimerjstyles May.
  2. Oct 21,  · Eleven years after its original release, The Unicorns return with a remastered edition of Who Will Cut Our Hair When We’re Gone?, a song collection that has lost none of its lovable weirdness with time. At once goofy and ambitious, the music of band masterminds Nick “Diamonds” Thornburn and Alden “Ginger” Penner ranks among the most inventive outpourings from Montreal’s fertile pop scene.
  3. Jul 29,  · But with ’s Who Will Cut Our Hair When We’re Gone—their first and, to date, final widely released recording—Thorburn and Penner effectively got their shit together just long enough to.
  4. Apr 27,  · When a few years later I bought the second album by the Walkmen I thought- they sound a lot like the Unicorns! and then I realized that my Unicorns album was a misprint. I've been trying to figure out what the value of this pressing is- the only other reference I've found to it on the internet is a Unicorns message board/5(34).

  6. The Montreal-based Unicorns were originally formed in December by Nick Thorburn (stage name Nick "Neil" Diamonds, as well as a host of other aliases) and Alden Penner (stage name, Alden Ginger; Elvis Presley's fiancée when he died was Ginger Alden). They were later joined by drummer Jamie Thompson (stage name J'aime Tambeur) and Max Groadie ("the American Roadie, né Bill Horwood").

  8. I have given this a 5 star review because I've always loved this album, but be warned, I bought this under the impression that I was buying the vinyl version of the album as the page for this product was titled "Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone [VINYL]", Now I'm not too annoyed as, quite frankly I suspected something was not quite right by /5(94).
